Re-watches have helped as well as I think it still holds up and has managed to be far more interesting than what The Hunger Games have done. Believe me, the kids in The Hunger Games (with the exception of a few) would never survive against the kids in Battle Royale.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-667410643073985006.post-52677167642045410592018-07-26T15:08:44.678+02:002018-07-26T15:08:44.678+02:00I have not seen The Hunger Games because the premi...I have not seen The Hunger Games because the premise just doesn't appeal to me at all. Obviously this film will be the same. Considering the violence etc, I am not surprised Tarantino loves this film. I do enjoy his work very much but I really am waiting to hear the police have arrested him because they found dead bodies in the basement.Birgithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09439720285857050428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-667410643073985006.post-8042008250315836172018-07-26T14:54:13.119+02:002018-07-26T14:54:13.119+02:00I didn't love this one, but I'm glad I saw...I didn't love this one, but I'm glad I saw both too. I'm glad I saw both. My problem with those are that they are all so bloated. Sure, it looks prettier and JLaw is excellent, but there's so much filler. This is true of the first one where we get over an hour of talk show clips and costume changes to develop just one character (the rest all remain flat) when the job was already done in the first 15 or 20 minutes. It annoyed and bored me. With Battle Royale, we get to the point pretty quickly. And I didn't mind the flashbacks, though I agree they were detrimental to the pacing.
