Storyline

Two months after the tragic incidents back in 1979, the only survivor (Adrienne King) is mysteriously murdered. Five years later, Paul Holt (John Furey) opens a counselor training center at the Packanack Lodge, nearby the old Camp Crystal Lake. Ignoring once again the warnings from Crazy Ralph (Walt Gorney), murders begin again.

Opinion

If Friday the 13th wasn't memorable at all, Friday the 13th Part 2 is the proof that once you have hit the bottom you can always keep digging.

Writer Ron Kurz definitely did not know what to do. So he ended up using the first film's clips, same old tricks - how many times is the killer going to pretend he/she left the room? -, and the usual clichés - Mean Girls' Coach Carr was right, if you have sex you'll die -, the whole thing between a plot hole and another one.

The body count rises so the film doesn't seem as slows as the first installment, still there's nothing worst than watching the counselors killing time - by playing chess, and vintage video games, and engaged in tedious dialogue - in between slightly meaningful scenes.

Jason "finally" appears for the first time, but he is anything but intimidating. Seriously, how is a bag over his head supposed to be frightening? He just looks like an idiot.

The acting doesn't get better. With an appearing and disappearing Mrs. Voorhees, Betsy Palmer surely can't shine, and the rest of the cast is dreadful to watch.

Can't wait to see how worse it will get in the next episode.

  1. Lol. This might be one of the better entries in the F13 canon. If you think it's bad, just wait til you get to the latter half of the series.
