Opinion
Remember when I told you I never watched "The Matrix Revolutions" because of "The Matrix Reloaded"? Well, this time I gave it a chance and, just like its predecessor, it was a waste of time. But at least now I know how the story ends.
The plot, or that thing the filmmakers are trying to pass off as a plot, is one of the most fucked up things about this film. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't mankind rebelling against the machines and not vice-versa? And all those machines looked like some sort of robotic aliens from "Alien".
Anyway, the plot is very weak and filled with too much nonsense to my liking - like what is it with Neo losing his eyes? I mean, what that even was? And there's a scene *spoiler*when Trinity dies*spoiler* that is tremendously long and cheesier that a Nicholas Sparks movie.
The other huge problem with "The Matrix Revolutions" and the reason why it qualifies as the worst entry of the trilogy is the special effects. They are all over the damn place. Whether you look there are special effects. This film should be in the dictionary under exaggerated use of special effects. They kill every single feeling the characters may deliver. And they are not even that good.
And don't even get me started on the cast. Every single actor looks uninspired and like they're rather be anywhere else, any place but this film.
But after all, there's nothing as gratifying as watching an army of Agent Smiths exploding.

This is the reason why films should not have sequels...well why this should nev have. I thought The Rave sequence at the beginning as just stupid and her dying actually made me giggle because I could see Leslie Nielsen in this. I don't even remember if they defeat the aliens or not.
ReplyDeleteYes, the rebels did win. And I almost forgot about the rave sequence. It was terrible!
