Thursday Movie Picks: Romance Tropes & Television Edition: Love Triangles

a weekly series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves

For this final romance-themed week, we are asked to pick TV series features love triangles. Despite it being a plot-device I don't like nor care for, I do have my favourites, which always are the attractive and not-so-nice boys. So without further ado, here are my three crushes love triangle picks.

Thursday Movie Picks: Romance Tropes Edition: Forbidden Love

a weekly series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves

When I think of forbidden love, Ovid's Pyramus and Thisbe comes to my mind, the story Shakespeare took the inspiration from to write Romeo and Juliet. This ill-fated love is not the kind of love I'm going to talk about today; instead, I'm going with love forbidden by the law.

Thursday Movie Picks: Romance Tropes Edition: Friends to Lovers

a weekly series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves

Can a man and a woman be friends, without sex getting in the way? Personally, I think it's possible. That said, I still occasionally enjoy when a romantic comedy goes for that cliché and the opposite gender friends fall in love, and for this second romance-themed Thursday Movie Picks I'm going with some I enjoyed.

Palmer (2021)

I'm the first to say we should not judge a book by its cover and yet I almost skipped Palmer because of its poster. I didn't even bother reading the synopsis, I just decided it was not worth seeing on its poster alone. Thankfully, I stumbled on a review that made me reconsider my decision because this Apple TV+ original turned out to be a powerful, emotional, and heartfelt drama.

Thursday Movie Picks: Romance Tropes Edition: Fake Relationships

a weekly series hosted by Wandering Through the Shelves

If you are familiar with this series then you already know that it's a tradition for the month of February to have themes revolving around romance. It's not different this year and we are kicking off the month with films involving fake relationships. Without any further ado, here are my favourite films tied together by actresses I love.

Monthly Recap: January 2021

How is January over already? HOW?! I guess it's easy to lose track of time when every single day looks the same and that's pretty much my life now that I'm unemployed. One dreadfully tedious day after another.
