Plot
Louise Sawyer (Susan Sarandon) works as a waitress in a diner and has some problems with her boyfriend, Jimmy (Michael Madsen).
Thelma Dickinson (Geena Davis) is married to Darryl (Christopher McDonald) who likes his wife to stay at home and have no fun. One day they decide to take a two-day vacation, jump in the car and hit the road.
Their journey, however, turns into an escape when Louise kills a rapist (Timothy Carhart).

Opinion
Janet Maslin of The New York Times had only praise for the film in her review and so do I. Thelma & Louise is Ridley Scott's masterpiece. This road movie is outstanding and timeless.
The screenplay - written by Callie Khouri and Academy Award winner for Best Original Screenplay - the director and the cast are brilliant.
Thelma & Louise is a story that blends several themes: family life, friendship and freedom. The desire and the right to be free, as seen at the end of the film, seems to be the most important.
